This Privacy Policy explains how HardRoadVirtues (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the HardRoadVirtues iOS application (the “App”) and our website (the “Site”).

- We built HardRoadVirtues to minimize data collection.
- Your habit data, check-ins, notes, and weigh-ins are stored on your device.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or “tracking” across apps and websites.
1) Information the App stores
The App allows you to enter and store the following information:
- Habit completions (e.g., which habits you completed on a given day)
- Streak and progress calculations derived from your habit logs
- Daily Check-In entries (rating and optional note)
- Optional weigh-in entries (weight value and unit)
- Examine entries (your guided reflection responses and optional notes)
- App preferences (e.g., day boundary, reminders, schedule settings)
2) Where your data is stored
On-device storage:
- By default, the App stores your data locally on your iPhone/iPad.
Optional iCloud sync (if enabled):
- If you enable iCloud sync (when available), your data may be stored in your private iCloud database associated with your Apple ID so it can sync across devices and restore on reinstall.
- Apple operates iCloud; we do not run our own servers for this sync.
- iCloud sync requires you to be signed into iCloud on your device and to have iCloud services enabled.
3) What we collect automatically
We aim to collect minimal information automatically.
- We do not collect precise location.
- We do not access your Contacts, Photos, or other sensitive device data unless a feature explicitly requires it (and you grant permission).
Diagnostics (if applicable):
- Apple may provide crash logs and basic diagnostic information to developers depending on your device settings and Apple’s services. We use this information only to improve reliability.
4) Notifications
If you enable reminders, the App uses iOS notifications to alert you.
- Notification permissions are controlled by you in iOS Settings.
- We do not read notification content from your device; notifications are delivered by iOS.
5) How we use information
We use your information only to:
- Provide core functionality (tracking habits, streaks, progress, charts)
- Save and display your entries (check-ins, notes, weigh-ins, examine)
- Improve reliability and fix bugs (e.g., via diagnostics if available)
6) Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal data.
We share data only in the following limited cases:
- Service providers: Apple services you use through the App (e.g., iCloud if you enable sync).
- Legal requirements: if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- With your action: if you choose to export/share data from within the App.
7) Data retention
- On-device data remains until you delete it or delete the App.
- If iCloud sync is enabled, data may remain in your private iCloud account until you disable sync and/or delete iCloud data, subject to Apple’s iCloud settings and policies.
8) Your choices and controls
You can:
- Edit or delete entries inside the App (where supported).
- Disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- Disable iCloud sync (if available) in the App and/or iOS Settings.
- Remove the App to delete on-device data.

9) Children’s privacy
HardRoadVirtues is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10) International users
If you use the App outside the United States, your data may be processed and stored on your device and, if enabled, in iCloud in accordance with Apple’s services and your settings.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, if changes are material, provide additional notice within the App or on our Site.
